Greggs does not operate one national price list. We read the public Click + Collect menu for three different shop types: a high-street shop in Sheffield (100 The Moor, 21 September 2026), a central London shop (94 Great Portland Street, 14 September 2026) and a forecourt unit (EG On The Move, Rotherham, 21 September 2026). Across the 190 or so products we could match in both shops, the Sheffield price was typically about 16% lower than London, and the forecourt price was typically about 4% to 5% higher than London (roughly 25% above the high-street price). We have not observed airport or railway-station shops, which may be higher again. Prices marked as estimates on product pages are calculated from these observed ratios.

In our checks a single Greggs Sausage Roll cost £1.35 in the Sheffield high-street shop, £1.60 in central London and £1.70 at the forecourt unit. The Steak Bake was £2.25, £2.70 and £2.80; the Chicken Bake £2.20, £2.65 and £2.75; and the Cheese & Onion Bake £2.10, £2.50 and £2.65 (high street, London, forecourt). On the Click + Collect menus we read, the Sweet & Hot Drink Deal was £3.25 in Sheffield, £3.90 in London and £4.05 at the forecourt unit; the Bake & Drink Deal £3.75, £4.35 and £4.50; The Big Deal £5.25, £6.30 and £6.55; and Sandwich & Drink £4.25, £5.10 and £5.30. Not every deal is offered in every shop: the Sheffield menu had breakfast, roll and baguette deals that the other two shops did not show.

Takeaway Cold vs Hot Counter (VAT Implications)

Under UK VAT law, food sold cold for takeaway (such as cold sandwiches, sweet treats, and unheated savouries) is zero-rated for VAT. However, hot food kept warm or consumed on-premises incurs standard-rate 20% VAT. While Greggs bakes are traditionally freshly baked on trays and allowed to cool naturally on display without dedicated heated display shelves (meaning takeaway bakes do not carry hot food VAT surcharges), heated toasties and hot baguettes do reflect cooked food pricing.
