Price Sources & Multi-Tier Methodology
How we collect, source and estimate UK Greggs menu prices for three shop types, and which figures are observed versus estimated.
Quick answer: prices marked Observed were read from the public Greggs Click + Collect menu for a named shop on a named date; prices marked Estimated are calculated from those observations and are always labelled.
The three shop types we track
Greggs prices differ by shop type. We record (1) a high-street shop outside London (Sheffield, 100 The Moor, 21 September 2026), (2) central London (94 Great Portland Street, 14 September 2026) and (3) a forecourt or roadside unit (EG On The Move, Rotherham, 21 September 2026). All three were read from the public Click + Collect ordering menu at the step before checkout, with no account or payment details entered. We have not observed airport or railway-station shops.
Observed, Reported and Estimated: what the labels mean
Observed means we read that price for that item at that shop on that date. Reported means the figure comes from an earlier cross-reference or from named trade press, and the source is shown. Estimated means we did not see the item on that shop's menu, so we calculated it from prices we did observe: the London price multiplied by the median ratio between shop types (about 0.84 for the high street and about 1.05 for the forecourt unit, measured across roughly 190 products seen in more than one shop), rounded to the nearest 5p. Where an item is priced identically in the shops we compared (dips, for example), we assume the same price elsewhere. Estimates appear with an approximate sign on product pages.
Items with no online price
Some regional, bread-counter and in-store items are not on the Click + Collect menu, so Greggs publishes no online price for them. For a small number we show third-party price reports with the source, region and date; these are unverified, the shop type is usually not stated, and they are never used in structured data. Items with no reliable figure say so.
Calories, nutrition and allergens
Calories and nutrition come from the Greggs nutritional information document downloaded on 14 September 2026. Allergen data comes from the Greggs Allergen Guide (Version 12, 3 September 2026) and is shown per item with the guide section. Where the Click + Collect menu currently shows a different calorie figure from the document, the product page says so. For third-party branded drinks and snacks that Greggs does not include in its own guide, a few figures come from the manufacturer with the source linked; the rest are marked as not listed.
Delivery Markup
Third-party delivery platforms (Just Eat and Uber Eats) set menu prices approximately 15% to 20% higher than in-store collection prices to cover platform commissions.
